Eric was born in Cincinnati, Ohio where he began work in the landscape field. His 9 years of experience include working for a garden center, a tree company, commercial lawn maintenance, and residential/commercial landscaping. He graduated from the Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture in August of 2016, and left Ohio in pursuit of a lifelong dream to move to Colorado. He had never been here before, but has found it is everything, and more, than what he had imagined. While in Colorado he has spent his winter’s sharpening his skills in the powder in hopes to one day take a trip to Alaska, and drop in from a helicopter. He says, “I had never dreamed Colorado could get any better, and then the mountains turned green.” He spends every weekend exploring the wilderness far and near. His favorite hobbies include fabrication, photography, and music. He has an interest in all genres, and says he especially enjoyed the CO Symphony’s performance of David Bowie. He says he has found the perfect career for him at Mountain High. He really enjoys having the chance to meet different people, study the native plants, and to paint a living aesthetic with the available palette. What really draws Eric to this career path is the opportunity to still get his hands dirty sweating out the summer sun in beautiful Colorado.

I am a Colorado native where I spent most of my youth skiing and camping with my dad. I attended an outward bound program through my teenage years which is when I fell in love with the outdoors. I have been snowboarding since I was 12 and started rock climbing 6 years ago, which is why I love to climb trees… I love heights!
I have been at Mountain High Tree for 11 years starting in the Plant Health Care department and learning about pest control and diseases. I now work in the tree trimming department as a foreman and have been here in this position for 6 years. I decided to become a certified arborist two years ago to expand my knowledge. I have recently taken a part time position in our sales department to continue my growth within the company. I love this industry and have been in it for so long because there is never a dull moment, I get to work outside, and always something to new to learn.
Kevin is originally from Illinois, moving to Colorado in 1993 for college. He attended Western State College where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in outdoor recreation. Kevin has been working in the tree industry since 1999, becoming a certified arborist in 2004. Kevin owned Tree Trimmers Inc. in Gunnison Colorado and was in business from 2003 through 2008. Kevin made the move to Denver and Mountain High Tree in 2009 where he works in the Plant health care and trim departments. When Kevin isn’t working at MHT, he is also a professional drummer, playing with Casey James Prestwood and the Burning Angels country band.
Scott was born in Cincinnati, Ohio but moved to Avon, CO 14 years ago to pursue an active skiing lifestyle. He has been at Mountain High for 3 and a half years, an arborist for 2 years, and a foreman for 6 months. He decided to get his arborist license to that he could be more knowledgeable about the trees while trimming/removing them.
He has been a landscaper since he was 19 years old and has been an avid rock climber for many years. Tree work was his way of combining the things he loved to do as a career. One of his friends recommended he become a climber for a tree company.
In his free time Scott is a musician, an avid skier, and fine beer consumer. He enjoys the fear of heights and the scary situations that climbing trees involves. His favorite part about climbing a tree is being outdoors for a living and getting a free workout!
The rest of our Team:
Mountain High Tree has many more people on our team than listed here, we’re working on adding more bios regularily.
Mark Bilyeu & Diesel
Mark Bilyeu is our Maintenance Manager. Mark and his team keep our equipment and vehicles in proper working order so that crews can safely tend to our customers. Mark shared his “story” to us of how he came to join the MHT family in the summer of 1993. As a young man, Mark (like many young people), wasn’t quite sure about what he wanted to be “when he grew up”. So he worked at a variety of jobs trying to find his passion, but none of them held his interest. One day his mom handed him an ad from MHT and the rest is history. He began in our Plant Health Care department as a Spray Technician and, given his versatility, he also did some tree pruning. Then we discovered his mechanical aptitude! You see, when Mark would bring equipment or a vehicle in for repair, he didn’t just describe the problem, he would diagnose it! Mark agreed to transfer to our maintenance department, and as the maintenance assistant, he learned how to maintain and fix everything the “old farm” way. He worked his way up to Maintenance Manager, and has formed a great team with the skills and knowledge to keep everything in working order.
Mark and his wife Carri enjoy the outdoors, especially if it involves snow and/or motorized vehicles. They also foster dogs for Mutt Savers (founded by Carri’s mom). Mutt Savers bring dogs in from Kansas (which has an abundance of feral dogs), and holds weekly adoption events at Pet Smart in Westminster. Foster parents usually take in these dogs from Tuesday through Saturday, helping them to be healthy and look their best while they await adoption. We at MHT also think highly of Mark and admire both Mark and Carri for their Mutt Saver efforts. Our dear friend and shop dog Diesel has gone on to bigger lawns in the sky. We miss you, buddy!
Business Operations Manager /
Accounts Payable and HR Manager
How do we keep our office organized and running efficiently? Who takes care of the company HR needs to ensure a happy and productive team? That would be our Business Operations Manager, Kristina MacLean. Working behind the scenes at Mountain High Tree for over five years, Kristina enjoys keeping the day to day operation running smoothly. Leaving her home state of Michigan, Kristina and her 10 year old daughter, Morgan have made Colorado home. In her spare time (really?) she volunteers for the PTO at Morgan’s school and enjoys giving back to the community and spending play time with her daughter. Kristina certainly adds great value to the Mountain High Tree family and we are thankful to have her aboard. In photo: Kristina and Morgan the MHT Company picnic in July.
Customer Service / Accounts Receivable Manager
Being a Colorado native, the Mountain High philosophy is something I fully embrace. I was raised on a working cattle ranch between Pueblo and Colorado Springs (yep, I’m a cowgirl), so taking care of the land and our pant resources was part of my life growing up, and I truly believe Mother Nature is our biggest ally. I attended school at Fountain, graduating from Fountain-Ft. Carson High in 1974.
Family includes my spouse of 30 years, Gil, daughter Nicole, son Quinton, grandchildren Lilliana, Lanea, Anthony & Jaelonnie, 5 step-children and 13 step-grandchildren/great grandchildren/ great grandchildren in Louisiana, 2 brothers, 1 sister and more nieces/nephews, great nieces/nephews and great-great nieces/nephews than can be counted anymore!!
In my time off, I’m an avid reader and also enjoy spending time with the grand kids. Love spending vacations just road-tripping with my husband to wherever we decide to go – our latest favorite is Reno!!
I started working at Mountain High on March 10, 2005 and currently hold the position of Customer Service & Accounts Receivable manager. I’ve enjoyed my 11 years at Mountain High and hope there are many more to come (well, at least until I retire!!) The people I work with and the customers we serve are the best around!
Ralph and Robin are the greatest, and to give them big Kudos, I’m fully behind their generous support of the Children’s Diabetes Foundation, particularly in light of the fact that my granddaughter Lanea, has Type I Diabetes.
This is me in a “nutshell”!

Elisha was hired in March just in time to dive right in to the spring irrigation turn on season… busy, busy time. Elisha has 10 years of experience in our industry starting her “green” career at John Deere Landscaping in 2004. When the economy went bad; she decided to go back to school and get her degree. With a scholarship from The Colorado Garden Foundation (which runs the Spring & Fall Home shows), she earned her degree from Front Range Community College in Horticulture and Landscape Technology with a focus on Landscape Management. Elisha is a native of Colorado and loves working at Mountain High! We love having her here too, what a great asset. Kara loves Halloween and loves going to haunted corn mazes, they are the best. Kara says “I enjoy the challenges that each year brings and I’m happy to be part of the Mountain High team.” We are very fortunate to have Kara with the Mountain High Family!
Last October, Alex moved to Denver from Miami, Florida where he was a firefighter – so he could be with his girlfriend, Francesca. He was referred to Mountain High by one of our long term employees (Jerry) who told him what an awesome company MHT was to work for. Now he is busy working with us as a Lawn Technician and agrees that this is a great company. When not out in nature with his dog, Colt, Alex likes to work out, lift weights and hang with his girlfriend. What a nice guy to add to our crew!’
Shop Mechanic / Mulch Master
It is our pleasure to introduce you to Frank Podrasky. Frank has been with MHT since October of 1999, serving as a member of our maintenance team. As you can see from his photo, Frank really gets into his work! When he isn’t on the job, Frank likes to spend time with his family: his wife Danielle and his children Christina and Kyle. Frank enjoys a variety of activities like going to the park to hunt frogs with Kyle. His current favorite “me” time activity is rebuilding a 1975 Camaro; Kyle sometimes joins his Dad. We are certainly looking forward to seeing the two of them “cruising” the streets of Lakewood in the finished product. Stay tuned for those photos!
Danielle started with Mountain High Tree, Lawn & Landscape as a temporary accounting assistant. We were so impressed with her progress and work ethic that we offered her a position on our team in July of 2012. She supports the Accounts Payable, of course Accounts Receivable and Human Resource Departments. When Danielle is not working with numbers and handling the company’s money, she enjoys spending time with her 16 year old daughter Alina. (They look like sisters, Danielle is on the right.) She loves watching movies; her all-time favorite is Gone with the Wind. Danielle also loves to make people smile and laugh. If you are having a bad day, Danielle can cheer you up with her lovely smile. Truly, that smile is contagious and are extremely pleased to work with her everyday!

In her spare time she enjoys camping, playing bingo and spending time with my family. “In general, I lead a rather boring life” says Lisa. She has a great sense of humor too! Lisa also shared “I am thrilled to be working at Mountain High. Everyone here is great and has made me feel right at home”. We feel pretty lucky to have you too Lisa! Welcome aboard!
Assistant to Sales / Marketing
We are pleased to introduce Deb Wheeler. Deb joined MHT in January of 2012 as a Customer Service Representative. Over time, we discovered that she was also a great addition to our Sales Support team and a great help in our marketing efforts. Deb was raised in Wyoming, but spent many years traveling around the Pacific. She smiles as she shares her many amazing adventures while living in different parts of the world. What great experiences! (We keep telling her she should write a book!)
When asked what she would like for us to know about her, she offered the following: “The majority of my work experience has been in the recreation field. I served as a Program Director for youth and adult sports and special events for 13 years before moving to Denver. I definitely miss working with the “kids” – they keep you young at heart. I have two fantastic daughters that live in the Denver area and I am extremely proud of them. I enjoy playing and watching sports of any kind. I love to try new and different things; it keeps my life interesting. I moved to Denver 2 years ago, and love it! Mountain High has given me the opportunity to use my marketing skills and learn about the tree, lawn and landscape business. But most importantly, I work with some very talented and wonderful people.” Thanks Deb… we are very happy you’re here!
