Centennial Tree Care Services

As our customers become more eco-conscious, more of them are looking into environmentally friendly options for tree and shrub care.

That’s what we’re finding at Mountain High Tree, Lawn and Landscape.

Recently, one of our clients in Willow Creek, Centennial, contacted us at Mountain High Tree & Lawn because she had heard around the neighborhood that we had more environmentally friendly fertilization methods (which we do!).

At Mountain High Tree & Lawn, we take great pride in offering a variety of tree fertilizers, customized to the situation, plus insect and disease control were we inspect all of the plant material before we treat to minimize unnecessary pesticide use.

If you are interested in tree or shrub care and want to learn about the variety of options out there that we provide, read on.

Tree and Shrub Care in Centennial

Your trees and shrubs in Centennial need regular attention to stay hydrated and strong, even in the winter.

Call us at Mountain High Tree & Lawn, particularly if you see dead branches or your trees’ leaves are turning a peculiar color. We will inspect your trees and shrubs free of charge before coming up with a detailed care plan. Feel free to give us a call. There’s never a charge for us to inspect your trees and shrubs.

Tree and Shrub Fertilizers

If you notice your trees’ leaves are yellowing, your trees may need nutrients.

At Mountain High Tree & Lawn, we introduce vital nutrients – such as iron, zinc, manganese and boron, plus slow release nitrogen that are lacking in Centennial’s natural soil environment.

We also add natural beneficial fungi such as Mycorrhizae to aid in the health of your trees (more on this helpful fungus later).

Natural Control Option

Our client in Centennial was naturally very pleased with our environmentally friendly treatments.

These treatments swaps traditional pesticides for more environmentally friendly options such as soaps, horticultural oils and even natural biologicals.

The Natural Control option may be somewhat less effective than your traditional options, but it also ensures that the surrounding environment is treated with great care.

Environmentally Sensitive Fertilizers

At Mountain High Tree & Lawn, we also have environmentally sensitive methods of fertilization.

We have found that the natural Mycorrhizae fungus, for instance, is great for your trees’ roots on its own. This fungus naturally expands the surface area of the roots so they absorb water and nutrients better.

We also offer a slow-release nitrogen fertilizer. We have found that quick-release fertilizers can release too quickly causing sometimes unhealthy growth surges. On top of that, they tend to seep into the surrounding soil and groundwater.

With the slow-release fertilizer, not only is your tree generally treated longer (up to two years), but it also makes it more likely that your tree receives the nutrients it needs.

Mountain High Tree & Lawn also targets the critical root zone, from the trunk to the drip line and beyond. You are entering the Critical Root Zone…

Tree and Shrub Disease Control

There are a variety of diseases that can affect your favorite trees. They range from Fire Blight (which can affect Apple, Crabapple. Pear, Hawthorne and others) to Powdery Mildew (makes leaves powdery) to Cytospora Canker (affects Aspen and Spruce trees) and 1000 Canker Disease (has already killed most of our walnut trees).

Symptoms of tree diseases can come in many forms. If any part of a tree looks unusual, it may be time to call an arborist.

Hail storms can lead to tree disease because they can create wounds in the bark.

Insect and Pest Control

From the Emerald Ash Borer to Japanese Beetles to Aphids and Spider Mites, there are plenty of insects that love Centennial’s trees and shrubs.

The Emerald Ash Borer may look a little prettier than the average beetle, but don’t let its looks deceive you. In fact, we dedicated an entire webpage to it because it is so devistating: https://mounthightree.wpengine.com/plant-health-care/#eab. We have developed three different preventative treatments for this insect to ensure it doesn’t pop up in your yard.

With Emerald Ash Borers and Ips Engraver Beetles, in particular, it’s important to seek preventative measures before it’s too late. It’s hard to control them once they affect a tree. Call us at Mountain High Tree & Lawn so we can help prevent them from ever causing damage.
